A twelve-fork acacia spray — mimosa — with flocked blossoms. Flocking is the correct finish for this flower: acacia blossom is a fuzzy ball of stamens rather than a petalled flower, and only a raised velvety surface reproduces that. A smooth bead version reads as a berry stem instead.
Yellow mimosa is a spring fixture in European floristry and has been growing steadily in US event work, particularly for March and Easter styling. Twelve forks per stem makes it a high-coverage filler — one stem puts a cloud of yellow through an arrangement that would otherwise need a handful of separate inserts.
