What a Sample Order Is Actually For

A sample is not a cheap way to get a few flowers. It is a test, and it is worth designing it to reveal the three things a product photo cannot show.

Colour in your own light. A screen shows colour under one condition; a venue shows it under another. Blues, purples and blush tones shift the most between the two, which is why they are the colours most worth sampling before a volume order.

Surface finish in the hand. Whether a petal reads as fabric or as a petal depends on sheen, and sheen is invisible in a lit product shot. Our quality levels guide explains which uses need a coated finish and which do not.

How the carton arrives. Flowers ship compressed. How much shape a stem recovers, and how quickly, is a property of the product and the packing — and it is the part buyers most often discover too late.

Two ways to sample

  • Sample box — a prepared assortment, for judging general material and finish quality across flower types.
  • Single-pack trial — there is no minimum order, so when you already know the SKU you can buy one pack to check that exact colour and pack size.

Common questions

Can I order a small quantity of artificial flowers as a sample?

Yes. There is no minimum order, so you can buy a single pack of the exact style, and a prepared sample box is available for judging material and finish across several flower types. Custom colours and private-label runs have their own minimums.

What should I check when a sample arrives?

Colour under the lighting the flowers will actually sit in, the petal surface at arm’s length, how much shape the stem recovers after carton compression, and whether the head is firm where it meets the stem. Order two colours of the same SKU rather than one, because batch colour consistency is the most common quality complaint and one colour cannot show it.

Do samples cost the same per stem as a bulk order?

No. Cost per stem falls as carton size rises, so buying a few stems of one style is always the most expensive way to buy them. That is the price of finding out before a real order depends on it. The prepared sample box is the exception: the stems in it are free, and you pay only the $39.90 shipping.
